Can water for sprinkler systems be stored in Franklin Hodge tanks?

Yes. Franklin Hodge tanks are designed to act as pump suction tanks for fire sprinkler systems.

Can water for hydrant systems be stored in Franklin Hodge tanks?

Yes.  Franklin Hodge tanks can be used for general firefighting water storage, including hydrant systems.

Can potable or drinking water be stored in Franklin Hodge tanks?

Yes.  Franklin Hodge tanks can used to store potable/drinking water.

Can process water be stored in Franklin Hodge tanks?

Yes. Water for process use can be stored in Franklin Hodge tanks. This includes water for the beverage, brewing, food and general industrial process industries use.

Can sewage and effluent be stored in Franklin Hodge tanks?

Are Franklin Hodge tanks Loss Prevention Certification Board approved?

Do Franklin Hodge tanks have an internal liner?

Yes. We offer a range of tanks with tailor-made internal membrane liners. 

What materials are the internal liners made from?

Butyl Rubber, EPDM, PVC. We can source other materials to suit different applications.

What capacities of tanks can Franklin Hodge offer?

From 10m3 (2,200 imp gallons), to 5,000m3 (1.1m imp gallons)

Can Franklin Hodge offer cylindrical tanks?

Yes.  See our  Liquistore® and Firestore® brands

Can Franklin Hodge offer rectangular tanks?

Yes. See our Liquitainer® and Firetainer® brands.

Can oil be stored in Franklin Hodge tanks?

No. Oil and hydrocarbons cannot be stored in our tanks.

What type of covers do Franklin Hodge tanks have?

Flat ‘decking’, aluminium pitched and conical.

Are Franklin Hodge tanks NFPA approved?

No. We offer our Factory Mutual approved design of tanks for NFPA projects

Can Franklin Hodge offer tanks to NFPA design requirements?

Can Franklin Hodge offer tanks designed to AWWA design code D103-97?

Yes.  Our tank design is based upon AWWA D-103-97 design principles

Can Franklin Hodge offer tanks worldwide?

Are Franklin Hodge tanks designed for earthquake (seismic) conditions?

Yes, if requested.  We can offer tanks to Factory Mutual or AWWA seismic design requirements. We can also work to specific local design requirements if we are provided with the design parameters or information.

Are Franklin Hodge tanks designed for regions where strong winds are common, such as Hurricanes and Typhoons?

Yes, if requested. We have designed and installed tanks for regions that experience tropical cyclone wind conditions.

Can Franklin Hodge offer galvanised steel tanks?

Yes.  A high-grade hot-dip zinc coating of 300gms per side

Can Franklin Hodge offer aluminium tanks?

Yes. Using a shipbuilding grade of aluminium for maximum corrosion resistance

Can Franklin Hodge offer stainless steel tanks?

No. Not currently

What materials are used on Franklin Hodge tanks, for fittings/connections/pipework?

Galvanised or stainless steel. Epoxy coated steel. uPVC

Can Franklin Hodge tanks be supplied with inlet control ball float valves?

Yes. Either LPCB or WRAS approved

Can Franklin Hodge tanks be supplied with level control switches?

Yes. Both high and low level

Can Franklin Hodge tanks be supplied with drain valves?

Yes. Standard is a gate valve in gunmetal

Can Franklin Hodge tanks be supplied with a contents measuring gauge?

Yes. Direct acting, hydrostatic capillary, ‘cat & mouse’ or electronic type

Can Franklin Hodge tanks be supplied with connections or openings for other equipment to be installed?

Yes. A range of flange and spool connections are available

Are Franklin Hodge tanks supplied with a low-level access manway?

Yes. Standard is 600mm diameter, in either galvanised or stainless steel

Are Franklin Hodge tanks supplied with a roof or cover access hatch?

Yes. Our standard ball valve housing has an access hatch.

What is the standard warranty for a Franklin Hodge tank?

12 months. We issue a standard warranty document with each tank

Can extended warranties be provided for Franklin Hodge tanks?
