Our specialist industrial tank team have recently completed two further successful projects for customers in the public water and waste water treatment supply sector.  We are working with Omerastore of Germany, our partners in the supply of glass fused to steel (GFS) tanks, together with other specialist equipment suppliers, in order to deliver quality and added value solutions for our customers.

Aylesbury Sewage Treatment Works

Working for Thames Water at their sewage treatment works in Aylesbury we have installed a GFS tank of 6.81m diameter and 3.538m high, complete with a GRP cover.  The project entailed replacement and refurbishment work on a site that continued to operate while we worked on the site.  Our site team completed the project a day ahead of schedule.

Rovahead Sewage Treatment Works Shetland

Working ultimately for Scottish Water, we installed two GFS tanks of 10.24m diameter x 4.80m high together with GRP covers.

Rovahead is a remote site situated on the outskirts of Lerwick on Shetland Island.  Because of the nature of the site, it presented particular challenges in terms of logistics and environment, for our industrial tank team.  The scope of the project was comprehensive in terms of the removal of an existing obsolete plant and foundations and the installation of new equipment.  To provide as cost effective a solution as possible for our customer, the existing pipe work on the tanks was re-used.  Our site team carefully removed the existing pipe work during the dismantle phase and then cleaned and refurbished it, before re-fitting to the new tanks.
