FRANKLIN HODGE INDUSTRIES SITE INSTALLATION TEAM COMMENDED ON APPROACH TO HEALTH & SAFETY

Working with customer Hall & Kay Fire Engineering, on the installation of a Firestore® fire sprinkler water storage tank for Amcor Flexibles at their plant in Ilkeston, the Franklin Hodge site installation team on the project received the following written commendation, from the health and safety manager at the plant;

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the team from Franklin Hodge who installed the sprinkler tank liner in AF Ilkeston Extrusion during the week of 22 January.  The work was done with deep and careful attention to safety.  I can honestly say that the team were among the most professional it has been my pleasure to work with.  From arrival on site and initial preparation through to the conclusion of the job five days later, the team complied fully and willingly with all of Amcor’s safety requirements.  Not only did they comply, they went beyond what was expected to ensure that all risks were properly managed and fully controlled, including those from unexpected events.  One example serves to illustrate their approach:  the liner arrived in one piece rather than separate sides and bottom as ordered.  The team calmly and patiently cut the bottom sheet off to follow the safe system of work that had been agreed, even though this resulted in several hours of extra work.

I would particularly like to thank Kevin Davies for his excellent leadership, openness and effective management of the team.  Special mention goes to all of the members (Luke Mills, Emile and Louie Blenkensop) who truly worked as a team to make the project a success”.
